As always, February seems to pass before you have time to blink. But here is what I managed to read, watch and listen to in February 2021. A little bit of Netflix and beyond for those that like a mix of media.
If you fancy also checking out what I read, watched and listened to in January check out my previous post here.
TV
Superstore (Netflix)
I am only on the second series but I’m thoroughly enjoying watching Superstore. I’m not a huge fan of US comedies, but this has really tickled me. I love the characters and find it really entertaining. I look forward to watching it once the little one is in bed.
Sex Education (Netflix)
This is my second time watching Sex Education and think it is certainly worth the hype it received. Its a great watch. It deals with issues well and has that wonderful mix of melancholy and humour.
Gilmore Girls (Netflix)
I asked on my Instagram if this was worth a watch as it wasn’t grabbing me at the start, but now I get it. It’s so easy and cosy with very little drama (Charlotte has fallen asleep to it several times)
Audiobooks by Audible
The Other Passenger by Louise Candlish
This was thrilling. I listened to it on Audible and thought the narration by Steven Mackintosh was spot on. It does have some swears so be careful if listening near little ears. I was utterly hooked and finished it in just a few days listening at every opportunity.
Books by Kindle
The Skylark’s Secret by Fiona Valpy
I thought this was a beautifully written book and follows the story of a mother and daughter. It chops between each character in alternate chapters, as they weave in-between times. It is set during WW2 in the Scottish highlands and you can really feel the atmosphere of the wind blowing around the cliffs, then disappearing inside for some neeps and tatties. A really wonderful read.
Podcasts
Grounded with Louis Theroux
I am a big Louis Theroux fan and always enjoy watching him on his documentaries. However, I’ve particularly enjoyed his lockdown podcast series. I love to listen to it in between audiobooks. I particularly enjoyed his chat with Mirium Margolyes in the first series and Justin Theroux (his cousin) in this series.
If you like seeing what I’ve been up to, give me a follow on Instagram and click on the ‘2021 Books’ story tab, as I pop in there any shorter books or sometimes baby-related reading.
Have you got any recommendations for this month? Let me know in the comments below xx
I never got around to watching Gilmore Girls previously and have been trying to work out if I should or not – sounds like it’s good to give a go if I don’t let my expectations get too high.

Oh completely! It is far from groundbreaking but its incredibly easy watching, with a very easy plot
