My Personal and Blog Goals for 2024

It’s 2024! Welcome to my personal and blog goals for this year. A huge hello friends, old and new.

I’ll be honest, I almost gave up on the blogging world. This is sad because I absolutely love having my own little corner of the internet and I much prefer this medium for creativity (I’m not the best photographer and I don’t live in a well-styled home worthy of Instagram). I was just finding that being a new blogger I was running out of time with two toddlers, a job, and a house to keep on top of.

But in 2021 I wrote out some aims (here if you fancy having a read!) and I stuck to updating them. And I loved that. I wouldn’t be ‘a very busy Isy’ I guess unless I felt a little bit busy and under pressure? It also looks like I’m getting a few new visitors to the blog. So as a natural over-sharer, here we are.

I blew off the cobwebs on the laptop, poured a cup of tea, and thought, let’s get back to blogging. I mean, I pay to host the site, let’s make the most of it.

So here they are. I would love to know if you have any personal goals this year or any blog goals that you would love to achieve. Drop me a comment at the bottom of this blog and maybe we could spur each other on.

  1. Read 12 Books

I feel so much happier when I have a good book on the go. It massively relaxes me at night as I am such a doom scroller, or end up searching for houses I can’t afford on Zoopla!

So I make sure it’s a paper book, not an e-book. I’ve learned my lesson. My other huge love is an audiobook. Whilst I’ve loved Audible, I’m a sucker for a deal and our local library is brilliant for free audiobooks via Borrow Box. I also love that Spotify now has audiobooks.

Connect with me on Goodreads and send me your best book recommendations for 2024. I may even write a blog on them later on in the year.

2. Improved Money Management, Set Goals and Manifest

When I started this blog I was a new Mum, off on maternity leave. I then left work and had our second baby. Money had gone from two incomes to one and I definitely took earning money for granted.

I have been really fortunate to have found a new part-time job which I love. As a family. we should be able to budget some funds for small home improvements and a little holiday this year. These aren’t huge aims, but I think there is a lot to be said for setting goals and manifesting. Last year we were lucky enough to go to Bluestone twice which was amazing and would love to do that again.

3. Continue to follow the Flylady organizing.

I started doing this in October 2021. I feel this needs a blog post all of its own this year as it has completely transformed the way I clean, organize, and plan for the week. If this is the first time hearing about it, the FlyLady herself has a great website. Diane in Denmark has some great resources on her YouTube channel too.

4. Make time for the children every day.

This is one where I feel like I shouldn’t need ‘reminding’. But life is busy. There’s school, nursery, clubs, activities, meetups with friends. And then it’s bedtime and I feel like we’ve not caught a breath.

So this year every day, for at least 3o minutes a day, I’m putting my phone away, turning the TV off, and connecting with the children. Just checking in with them, reading, playing, whatever they want to do.

5. Sensible exercise, loving my body, and being kind to myself. Eating well, movement, and rest.

Again, this is a whole blog post in itself. 2023 was the biggest change I have made mentally and physically for a long time. I’m learning to move to improve mental well-being, not punishment for eating cake. I now own dumbbells and brilliant headphones. It’s about moving every day to feel good and eating well  (as well as not feeling guilty about the cake!)

6. Nourish my Blog for 2024

I promise to keep this blog authentic to the content I want to create. I’m aiming for twice a week. Some free writing, some menu planning, some favorites, reviews, and general ramblings of Mum life, living by the sea and managing it all.

If you fancy coming along and seeing how this goes, message me, or sign up to my email list to see when a new blog is posted. Wishing you a happy and healthy 2024 xx
